艺术家自述

“我热爱行为艺术，它是真实存在的——真实的情绪与真实的人们。我也热衷于与真实的物体为伴——在自然中运用有机的、天然的材料例如尘土、水和食物。我喜爱那些雄伟的、光鲜的、盛大的、喜庆的一切并热衷于将它们融入自然。对我而言现场、空间、环境往往是我创作的起点。在完成表演的过程中，我不仅希望我自己融入其中，更会尝试让我的观众也像我那样。我想要给我的观众们更多的而不是仅仅局限于一种感官的体验。我希望能够与他们在这次的会面中真实地面对面。实际上，我同时也需要稍稍扭曲事实，我展现的东西并不一定要合乎情理。”

JohannesBlomqvist, Sweden

Born1985, lives and works in Umea, Sweden.

JohannesBlomqvist a performance artist and organizer that is based in Umea where heruns the platform PAiN (Performance Art in the North), which throughperformance events, workshops, seminars and artist residencies works for abroadening and strenghtening of the performance art scene in northern Sweden.Important aims are the stimulation of regional and international exchanges andcollaborations as well as contribution to the building of discourse around theart form.

He haspresented his work in several countries around the world like for exampleBrazil (Plataforma_TRAMPOLIM, Vitória/Fortaleza), Finland (New Art Contact,Helsinki), the UK (performance s p a c e , London), Portugal (Epipiderme,Lisboa) and New Zealand (Auckland Old Folks Association, Auckland). His worksis often community-based, almost always site-specific and evolves often aroundbody, history, communication and trust shaped by for example sensoryexperiences and story-telling.

Artist statement

"I love performance art. It isfor real. Real emotions, real people. I also love working  with real stuff- in nature and use organic, natural material such as dirt, water and food. Ilove the sublime, the dressed, the grand, the festive. I love combining thiswith the natural. For me the site, space and context always is thestarting-point for my work. And while doing it being present and trying get myaudience to be that too. I want to give my audience a experience and that itinclude use of more than just one sense. I want to really meet them. Be in themeeting. For real.  I also try to warp the reality a bit and what I showdoesn?t have to make sense."

艺术家自述

我认为行为表演是通过用身体创造影像和现场行为来表达自己的一个机会。我通过探索行为，测试极限和提问问题来处理生活的基本问题。最重要的方面是人与人之间的相遇和交流，以及开启思维过程和开放思想的可能性。在我的行为表演中，我处理其他方面的问题例如缺点、死亡和信心。并且动作和材料常常都会有一个象征性的角色。而我的表演通常伴随着极大的体力消耗，来建立与我的身体，材料以及其他人的关系。我也很喜欢让观众参与表演，这样他们会成为其中积极的一部分。

我通常不会重复我的表演。但是在较长的一段时间里我主要都是用同样的材料来工作，所以材料的选择对我来说是非常重要。我彻底地处理材料，因此我从中非常清楚地了解它，就像一种人际关系的出现。我有时收集材料或者自己制作材料。这种材料有一种象征性的角色，所以我使用它作为表演的一个基本的元素。通过它们和我的身体，我尝试去创造不同寻常或有时是超现实主义的影像和情景。

BeateLinne, Germany

Livesand works in Budapest, Hungary.

BeateLinne is a performance artist born in 1967 in Germany. She studied Fine Art,Architecture, Pedagogy, as well as German language and literature in Universityof Kassel, and University of Hildesheim. Since 2007 she has performed in Europeand Asia, given workshops and organised performance art festivals.

Linnes'work investigate core issues of life and the condition of being a human throughcreating live-actions with her body. Her performances often test the corporealand mental limits of herself, questioning the social manners and learned normsof behaviour.

By usingher body as a tool of creating powerful live-images, Linne considersperformance as an opportunity to express herself in her ongoing examinationinto the ideas of freedom and conventionality of thought. At the heart of herwork is an encounter and exchange between people: a possibility to initiatealternative and bold thinking processes.

ArtisticStatement

Iconsider Performance as an opportunity to express myself by means of creatingimages and live actions with my body. I deal with basic issues of live, byexploring behaviour, testing limits and asking questions.The most importantaspect is the encounter and the exchange between the people – and thepossibility to initiate thinking processes and open the mind. In myperformances I deal among other things with issues like deprivation, death, andconfidence.The actions and materials often have a symbolic character. Andusually I perform with great physical exertion, establishing a relation betweenmy body, material and other people. I also like to involve the audience in theperformance, so that they become an active part in it.

I don’trepeat my performances usually. But I work mostly over a longer period with thesame materials. The choice of it for me is very important. I deal thoroughlywith the material, so that I learn to know it very well and a kind of personalrelationship arises. (Sometimes I collect material or I produce it by myself).This material has a kind of symbolic character and I use it as a basic elementof the performance. With them and my body I try to create unusual or sometimessurreal images and situations.

周斌，中国

1970年出生于中国西安，1990年毕业于西安美术学院，1994至1997年先后在北京圆明园和宋庄进行油画艺术创作，1997年移居成都后，放弃油画媒介，开始以行为、装置、摄影和录像的方式进行艺术创作。

周斌是一位创作勤奋、艺术态度明确的艺术家，自1997年至今，他已创作了近百件行为艺术作品和大量的录像艺术作品，这些作品不但体现出周斌对于所处周遭现实处境的思考，也呈现出他对艺术本体语言层面的研究和推进。04年之后，周斌开始广泛参与国际间的行为现场艺术活动，曾在美国、日本、韩国、新加坡、泰国、菲律宾、越南、缅甸、印尼、巴基斯坦、荷兰、英国、西班牙、以色列等国家进行艺术创作、驻留研究。

周斌既是一位勤于创作实践的艺术家，也是行为艺术理论的研究者，他提出并强调的“行为创作与身心修行”议题在国际间的行为艺术研讨会上引起广泛关注和共鸣。周斌认为行为艺术家同样需要恒久的日常训练，核心便是随时随地用身心感知周围的一切。他在不同的国家如缅甸、越南、西班牙等地主持行为艺术工作坊，传授其创作经验，而在中国国内，2012年6月始，周斌受聘于四川美术学院讲授行为艺术课程。

为改善行为艺术艰难发展的现实处境，推动行为艺术的发展，周斌在进行艺术创作的同时，也积极参与艺术活动的组织工作。2007年，由周斌牵头组织创办UP-ON（向上）现场艺术空间，先后策划了包括UP-ON（向上）国际现场艺术节在内的众多国际行为艺术交流项目，迄今邀请了超过70位国际艺术家在中国开展行为艺术创作和学术交流活动。2009年3月，周斌创办多媒介偶发现场艺术实验项目 “庆典——自由的六分之一注解”，至今已在成都、重庆、长沙、澳门、西安、乌镇实施九场，有包括中国、德国、北爱尔兰、日本、西班牙、泰国、以色列、法国、英国、美国的45位艺术家分别以行为、声音、影像媒介参与创作。

Zhou Bin, China

Born in Xi’an, 1970, Zhou Bin graduated from Xi’an Academyof Fine Arts in 1990.

He did oil painting in the Old Summer Palace and then Songzhuangof Beijing from 1994 to 1997. Zhou Bin moved to Chengdu in 1997 and since thenhe has ditched oil painting as a medium, but resorted to performance, installation,photography and video recording.

Zhou Bin is an industrious artist and has clearattitude towards art. Since 1997, he has made hundreds of performance works andabundant video works which were the reflection he made on the realisticenvironment and also the demonstration of his research on art from the level ofontology language. From the year 2004, Zhou Bin began to participate in liveactivities of international performance art. He once worked and studied incountries like America, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines,Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Pakistan, the Netherlands, UK, Spain, Israel etc.

Being both practice and theorist in the field ofperformance art, Zhou Bin raised the theme of “Performance Art & Physicaland Mental Self-cultivation” at the international performance art symposium andit received a wide attention and strong resonation. In his opinion, performanceartists need long-lasting daily training as well, with the main course offeeling the external environment whenever and wherever possible. Zhou Bin hostsworkshops in oversea countries like Myanmar, Vietnam, and Spain etc. And he hasbeen employed by Sichuan Fine Arts Institute to teach performance art sinceJune, 2012.

Apart fromartistic production, Zhou Bin engages himself in organizing activities toimprove the situation of performance art and pave the way for its development. In2007, he initiated an on-site art space named “UP-ON”, engineered manyinternational exchange programs including UP-ON International Live Art Festivaland invited over 70 artists to China for creation and exchanges. In March of2009, he launched the multi-media casual on-site experimental program “Celebration--The1/6 Comments of Freedom”, and it has been played for 9 rounds inChengdu, Chongqing, Changsha, Macau, Xi’an and Wuzhen. Over 45 artists werebeing parts of it through performance, sound and image who were from China,Germany, Northern Ireland, Japan, Spain, Thailand, Israel, France, UK andAmerica.
