"Counterpoint" considers a global interplay and meeting of ideologies that creates a portrait of the state of humanity in this era. What we are, and the potential of what we may become, is defined in dialogue, not in isolation. Yet we are societies of extreme contradiction as well as basic similarities. We have also learnt, occasionally at great cost, that the belief systems of other societies can have a catastrophic impact on our own, while in the world's multicultural metropolises the same systems coexis-necessitating a knowledge and tolerance of the other's culture. We are a counterpoint of belief systems. Humanity can be seen as a complex organism - not exactly a harmonious one - evolving and struggling with and in opposition to its self.
