Mike Parr是一位在行为艺术里的重要人物， 他给自己回顾展取了一个较为低调的名字，Edelweiß，不仅是雪绒花的意思也意味着一个对自己国家，奥地利，的关系同时也是玩语言上的谐音。德语的“edler Weißer”高尚的白人和 “reines Weiß”纯白，英文的 “ideal/idle vice”标准／闲置式或者是“idol/vise”偶像台钳。Parr是研究现代主义的意识形态。
1977年的时候他把他的右手坎了，是塞满碎肉和假血的人工假肢。UnAustralian （2003）的行为是针对当时澳大利亚的难民的抗议，他把自己的嘴缝起来。由于他自少是残缺，只有一只手，Mike Parr用自己作为出发点，探讨自我和公共，主观和记忆，人类存在的疑问和控制。他利用刺激，痛楚，噁心和禁忌来让观众作出对艺术和道德的讨论。
MikeParr生于1945年，现局和工作于悉尼。
