 讲座简介  

具有悠久历史纵深的“画”，在今天仍然是一种动态发展的艺术媒介，展示了与社会和多领域交叉下更为丰富的面貌和可能性。成立于1977年的Drawing Center位于纽约曼哈顿，作为非营利艺术机构，Drawing Center将画作为与当代文化、艺术的未来和创造性思维发生首要关联的媒介，探索并研究横跨多学科和文化历史的议题。本次讲座的主讲人，Drawing Center 馆长 Brett Littman，将结合他对机构研究、决策工作的实践经验，就画在当代文化中的相关性，以及在建筑、设计、音乐、科学、舞蹈等多领域扩大现有定义的可能性等广泛的话题展开讨论。本次讲座也将以泰康空间六月一日开幕的展览“Drawing Pogo”为对话的契机，为不同文化体系下关于“画”的实践经验与思考研究提供互通与碰撞的可能。

Drawing as a time-honored medium, which presenting the ample features and possibility of society and multidisciplinary crossover, constantly evolves in today’s dynamic world. The Drawing Center, a museum in Manhattan's SoHo district, explores the medium of drawing as primary, dynamic, and relevant to contemporary culture, the future of art, and creative thought both multidisciplinary and historically. The director of The Drawing Center, Brett Littman will be the speaker of today’s lecture and embraces the relevancy of Drawing under the contemporary social status quo, carrying out a discussion combined with his practical experience regards to a possibility of expending its definition under the discipline of architecture, design, music, science, dancing etc. Along with the opening of exhibition Drawing Pogo in Taikang Space, this lecture will take its opportunity, exploring the possibility of drawing that connects with different cultural systems during its practical experience and academic studies.

 主讲人简介  

Brett Littman，评论家、艺术管理者，1996年以来为众多学术目录贡献了一系列国际出版物和新闻评论文章。曾于MoMA PS1担任五个部门副主管，并协调管理Warm Up Summer DJ Festival和wps1.org radio等项目工作。2007年至今，Littman任纽约Drawing Center馆长兼执行董事，与工作团队共同为Drawing Center制定战略发展计划，并组织策划展览、论坛、教育和公共项目。

After four years as deputy director of MoMA PS1, where he managed five departments and oversaw the Warm Up summer DJ festival and wps1.org (now ArtonAir.org) radio, Brett Littman as a critic and art manager, assumed the post of executive director of The Drawing Center in 2007. He enacts the strategic development plan with his team and takes charge of organizing exhibitions, forum, educational program and open sessions in The Drawing Center.
