“山外山-沈勤、朱建忠作品展”即将于2014年9月26日在玉衡艺术中心开幕。沈勤、朱建忠皆是在内敛的外表下，富有强烈的探索和创新欲望，始终能够坚守自我鲜明而又差异化的视觉叙事品格的艺术家。此次将展出40余幅作品，呈现两位艺术家独特的水墨创作面貌以及他们具有当代意味的文化情怀在其创作中的重要性。此次展览特别邀请冀少峰先生担任策展人。
展览将分为两个部分。一部分将呈现沈勤老师近期创作的田、园、路系列。另一部分将展出朱建忠的以杉、松树为主的水墨作品。关于主题“山外山”，策展人冀少峰认为“面对沈勤和朱建忠的视觉图像世界，扑面而来的是一种澄明之境和空谷梵音的交响。他们把无限情思寄寓在有限的视觉表达间，进而营构出‘象外有象，山外有山’的澄怀意境。”

展览将持续到10月31日，展览同期将举办学术研讨会并出版艺术家画册，邀请10位学术批评家深入探讨当代水墨的现状和艺术发展动力，充分体现本次展览强烈的文化和学术探索意识。展览期间还将邀请著名美术评论家、哲学博士夏可君先生与艺术家进行访谈，深度挖掘两位艺术家的创作脉络和艺术价值。

"The Distant Mountains -Shen Qin&Zhu Jianzhong Ink Art Exhibition" will be officially open on September 26, 2014 at Alioth Art Centre. The two artists,Shen Qin and Zhu Jianzhong, under the restrained appearance, bear strong spirit of exploration and desire of innovation. They consistently keep their self-identity and self-distinction of visual narration. More than 40 pieces works of art will be exhibited this time, presenting the unique production of their ink paintings,hlighting the importance of the contemporary culture in their creations. Mr.Ji Shaofeng is invited as our distinguished curator.
The exhibition will be divided into two parts. In the first part, we will present Shen Qin’s recent creation series of Field、Garden and Road. In the second part, we will display Zhu Jianzhong’s works of ink painting,with a focus on Chinese fir and pine. As forthe theme "The Distant Mountains", the curator Mr. Ji Shaofeng believes that "When looking at the visual world created by Shen Qin and Zhu Jiangzhong, you would be impressed by the symphony of bright context and Brahmavoice from hollow valleys. They put unlimited emotions and thoughts into a limited space of visual expression, and therefore, build up an artistic conception of ‘there arevisions beyond visions,mountains beyond mountain.”

The exhibition will be open until 31st October.During the exhibition period, there will be a seminar, and artists’ albums will be published. We will invite ten academic critics and further discuss about the current situation of contemporary ink painting and the motivation of the developing the art, fully representing a strong sense of culture and academic exploration. We will also invite the famous art commenter and philosopher Dr. Xia Kejun to have an interview with the artists, exploring their ways of creation and value of art.
