新艺见”艺术讲座系列

仇晓飞:绘画的路径和自由

从2013年初的民生美术馆个展《反复》,到同年9月在北京公社举办的《劳申伯格说,拐杖总比画杖长》,再到近期佩斯北京的新作展《南柯解酲》,仇晓飞近年不仅以展览的密度和产量的惊人令业界关注,其画风的变化速度之快也引起不少讨论和争议。从2009年以来,仇晓飞从对记忆的迷恋逐渐转向了对意识与潜在心理活动的探索,从单纯的自我内心关照向外拓展衍生,同时探究形式与意识之间往复互生的关系。


通过其绘画实践,仇晓飞一直在反思和思考绘画的本质,尽管其绘画作品有足够的视觉愉悦性,但这绝不是艺术家创作的动机。“如果绘画还有一些力量的话,是因为他的本源性,它可以作为最基本的认识这个世界的方式,不在于表现,不在于使用它去做什么,而是在于认识”。“我从来没有沿着一个视觉的思路走下去,从来都是把之前的创作当做参照物。”的确,在最新的佩斯北京个展上迥异于以往的作品中,艺术家决绝地清除之前画面中一直存有的清晰的形象描绘,视觉主角成为粗粝挺劲的笔触、情绪化的泼溅、宽阔的色域以及漂浮的几何形态。这是否更接近于艺术家思考中绘画的本质?


仇晓飞已经成为国内青年画家的代表,本场讲座艺术家将分享其关于绘画的路径及自由性的思考。同台资深的几位策展人和评论家也将从自身角度共同探讨对仇晓飞艺术创作的观点,以及今日绘画发展之可能性。

Paths and Possibilities for Painting


There have been three big solo exhibitions of QiuXiaofei since the beginning of 2013, Repetition at Min Sheng Art museum, Rauschenbergsaid, the Walking Stick is Longer than the Maulstick, After All at BeijingCommune and most recently Apollo Bangs Dionysus at Pace Beijing. Not only theamount of art works but also the change of style has aroused great attentionsand discussions in the art world. Since 2009, Qiu’s art has turned frominfatuation with the memory to explorations on conscious and subconscioussubjects. At the same time, he’s interested in and experimenting on themutually driving relationship of consciousness and art forms.


Qiu’s constantly rethinking on the essence ofpainting through his explorations. Although his art has self-sufficiency invisual, it’s not from the artist’s original motivation. “If painting has somepower, it’s from its originality. Painting should not be used to express or todo something else but to understand the world.” “I never continuously follow a certainstyle in my art. I consider all my previous works as the reference of mycurrent work.” It’s true. We see totally different paintings in the recent soloshow at Pace with all abstract elements instead of the figurativecharacteristics in the old works. Is it closer to the essence of painting inartist’s mind?


Without doubt, Qiu Xiaofei has become the mostimportant painter among the young Chinese artists. In the talk, He would liketo talk about his thinking on the paths and possibilities of painting. We alsoinvited several important curators and writers to give their opinions on Qiu’sart as well as views on the future painting.

国内的绘画真是没救了,这都什么年代了还大笔刷刷的练习现代主义绘画。仇小飞基本上从图伊门斯有倒退了40 年,竟然大家还坐在一起做研讨,三个字,没文化。
