CERAMIC and WOOD ART WORKS RESIDENCIES

(DEADLINE: MARCH 30, 2014/JUNE 30, 2014)

l Location:Chang Nan Yuan, Songzhuang art zone, Tongzhou district, Beijing

l Deadline:  March 30, 2014 (Phase I )

              June 30, 2014 (Phase II)

l Duration: April 15 – July 15, 2014   (1-3 months, Phase I)

April 15 –  July 15, 2014  (1-3 months, Phase II)

l Number: Two foreign artists, one Chinese artist, three college students from domestic universities with pottery major.

l Eligibility: With at least 5 years experiences of ceramic/porcelain art paintings, sculptures and installations creation (for artists); Under-graduated college students majored in pottery arts (for students).

l Costs & Support:

air tickets (double-way) for both foreign and domestic artists / train tickets (double-way) for students/independent single room for each person/catering (three meals per day)/group working workshop or single studio (if needed)/air tickets (double way) and accommodation in Jingdezhen/three-day traveling in Beijing/raw materials / other fees if needed.

l Theme:  Installations / concept sculptures / furniture-shaped art works created by the combination of ceramic and wood materials. Have to be original, unique and strong artistic tastes.

l Arrangements during residency:

1. Culture and technique exchange, or other outreach activities with other institutions/individual;

2. Exhibition and openings with residents’ art works arranged by Chang Nan Yuan at the end of the residency;

3. 5-8 art works that are created by each resident during residency should be kept in Chang Nan Yuan after residency, including copyright of each work.

4. Other matters that are not mentioned here will be discussed at a mutual decision.

Beijing He Gu Jing Yuan Culture Co. Ltd (Chang Nan Yuan) is located in the North development zone of Tongzhou District in the capital city of Beijing. This area has always been well known as a trading and commercial center since the ancient times. Being as the successor of the traditional china culture originated from Jingdezhen in China for over 2,000 years, we are very proud of our traditional china culture! We are dedicated to devoting ourselves to carry this Chinese culture forward on a new, leading level and to create a“Jingdezhen in Northern China”here in Beijing.

The architecture and landscaping style in Chang Nan Yuan is a combination of Suzhou traditional garden and Huizhou architecture with a total area of 6 Mu (3,000 square meters). We offer creation and exhibition opportunities for artists, sculptors and painters related to all kinds of pottery / porcelain / ceramic art works production, as well as to provide an entertaining venue for all pottery lovers, students and tourists from both abroad and domestic.

We position our products at the level of high creative, strong artistic, tasteful, decorative and fun. We continuously develop our techniques and innovate our designing with an independent attitude, not only to meet our customers’ different needs, but also to explore our own unique way for the development of pottery arts in China.

人員:每期兩名國外陶瓷藝術家, 一名國內陶瓷藝術家, 三名國內藝術院校陶瓷專業學生

條件:具備陶瓷藝術繪畫、雕塑、裝置等創作經驗至少五  年以上的藝術家、藝術院校陶瓷

專業本科大學生。

費用支持：藝術家國際、國內往返機票 / 學生國內往返火車票 / 獨立的單人間 / 駐留期間

的夥食（一日三餐）/ 集體或單獨（如需要）創作的工作室 / 往返景德鎮機票

及食宿費用 / 駐留期間三日北京旅遊費用 / 原材料費 / 其它費用 (如需要)

主題： 探討陶瓷和木頭材料的結合，要求設計新穎、獨特、藝術性強的當代陶瓷藝術品。

安排： 在駐留期間有本駐留中心外出交流觀摩等活動；駐留期結束有相應的展覽和開幕活

動；駐留期間創作的作品在駐留結束後5—8件須留在昌南苑，且版權歸昌南苑所

有，至於駐留期間的作品歸屬選擇，則以雙方協商決定。
