2013年1月12日，空间站将为您带来新年首展 “宝石迷阵——刘光光个展”。刘光光生于1986年，毕业于鲁迅美术学院，是近年活跃在北京当代画坛的又一新将，此次展览是他继2010年后的第二个个展。空间站将请到法国高等社会科学院的文化景观博士苏磊为他策展。刘光光很擅长对景观的抽离及再造，这种本能在此次展出的近两年作品中表露无遗。策展人将以“景观碎片”、“景观还原”、“自我还原”3个部分，叙述地呈现处于启蒙状态的年轻艺术家所面临的人文环境，和他们不断适应的努力；而现场光影间碰撞的晕眩可将观者引入宝石迷阵般的感官游戏，深刻体会新锐艺术家再造的艺术世界。展览将持续至2月26日。

碎片还是？

景观的碎片化是这些年来常常被讨论的热点。风景真的坍塌了吗？今天的文化真的比过去更加萎缩和狭隘吗？伴随着文化多元文化的兴起，相对主义原则使社会放弃统一标准，公共价值体系走到崩溃的边缘。景观没有毁灭，而是在丢弃了现代主义的崇高标准后继续疯长。遗憾的是，那些习惯于观望价值准则的人们既丢失了参考，也忽略了蓬勃的大众文化和新生代艺术家的敏感性。事实上，那些抱有本质主义情节的年轻人和他们的前辈一样，不断摸索，渴望建立起一个持久而稳定的共存系统。

景观还原 

刘光光抛弃了传统绘画中用光线渲染气氛和描绘形体的装饰性手法。而是以强光让混乱的场景让人一览无余。他利用曝光瞬间近乎晕眩的空白，对景观和个体同时进行了悬置，抽空和本质还原。影像，符号和日常用品在被抹去其固有意义和价值后并没有被还原成某种的意向性，而是尝试用最基本的造型手法，毫无修饰地还原成最初的几何形状。艺术家并不在意某个符号意义的变化，而更专注于对多元体系的内部相互契合的研究。这种对不同文化以及不同阶层之间的共同性的探索，暗示了年轻一代重新推动社会内在结合的热烈愿望。

自我还原 

还原和自我还原是连接景观和个体的核心。身体，符号，影像的多元并列造成审美标准的相互贬值，身体不再屈从于固有的范式，自然情感从原有价值体系中挣脱出来，为海德格尔所谈论的在位于公共领域中的个体的存在的“敞开状态”提供了条件。在此，艺术家尝试借助由强光的瞬间在景观和意识形态中同时制造的暂停中，建立海德格尔的个体的敞开世界和公共领域（景观）之间的对应沟通。

嵌入，照亮 

二元论，进化论以及等级制度正在逐渐淡出由他们掌控的历史。几何形体和骷髅在闪光中并置着，个体和公共景观在相互嵌入的过程中渴望一种原初的连接。可贵之处在于，艺术家始终让观众以旁观者的角度，从光源的位置直视光亮区域似乎每个人可以凭借自身的闪光重新照亮历史和日常景观。如同画面里那些看似非逻辑的宝石，今天，万千年轻的个体正在逐渐积聚着重建世界的冲动和自信。他们如同在混沌之处逐渐汇聚起来的宝石，终将用自身的光明照亮无序的黑暗。

Bejeweled - Liu Guangguang Solo Exhibition   Press Release

On January 12, 2013, the Space Station is going to present the first exhibition “Bejeweled—Liu Guangguang’s Personal Exhibition” in the beginning of the year 2013. Liu Guangguang was born in 1986 and graduated from Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. He is another new artist active in the contemporary Beijing art circle. This exhibition is his second personal exhibition since his last one in 2010. The Space Station will invite Mr. Su Lei, cultural landscape doctor from School for Advanced Studies in the SocialSciences, France, to curate this exhibition for Liu Guangugang. Liu is expert in dissociation and reconstruction of landscape. This capability will be fully expressed in this exhibition through his works created in the recent two years. The curator will descriptively present humanities environment that young artists face in their initial stage and efforts they constantly made through “Landscape Fragments”, “Landscape Restoration” and “Self-restoration”.  The dizziness created by collision of light and shadow on the site will lead spectators into a sense game of Bejeweled to deeply experience the art world reconstructed by an emerging artist. The exhibition will last until February 26 this year. 

Fragment?

The fragmentation of landscape is a hot topic frequently talked over in recent years. Does landscape really collapse? Is today’s culture really more atrophic and parochial than that in the past? With the rising of multiculture, the principle of relativism is making the society abandon the unified standard and the public value system is approaching the edge of collapse. The landscape is not destroyed. Instead, it continues to grow excessively after abandoning the sublime standard of modernism. It is a pity that the people who have been accustomed to look on the criterion of value have not only lost reference, but also neglected flourishing popular culture and sensibility of artists of new generation. In fact, those young men who hold a favorite attitude toward essentialism as same as their predecessors constantly explore and aspire to found a sustainable and stable coexistent system. 

Landscape Restoration

Liu abandons the decorative technique of using light ray to render atmosphere and describe a shape in the traditional painting. Instead he makes use of strong light to make people in full view of the mess scene. He suspends, exhausts and restores the nature of the landscape and individuality simultaneously by using the dazzling blank produced in the moment of explosion.  Image, symbol and daily necessities are not restored to certain intentionality after their intrinsic meaning and value were erased, but restored to the initial geometric shapes without any ornament by attempting the most basic moulding method. Artist does not mind the change of some symbol’s meaning, but attaches much importance to the research of internally mutual conjunction of multiple systems. This exploration of commonality of different cultures and classes implies the younger generation’s strong aspiration to re-promote the internal integration of the society. 

Self-restoration

Restoration and self-restoration is the core of linking landscape with individuality. The multiple apposition of body, symbol and image results in the mutual devaluation of aesthetic standard, body no longer submits to the fixed mode and natural emotion breaks loose from the original value systems, which all provide a condition for “open state” that exists as an individuality in the public sphere talked over by Heidegger. Therefore, the artist attempts to found a corresponding communication between an open world of individuality advocated by Heidegger and public sphere (landscape) by making use of the moment caused by the explosion of strong light. 

Embedding, Lighting up 

Dualism, evolutionism and hierarchy are gradually fading out of the history controlled by them. Geometric shapes and skeletons are put together, and individuality and public landscape long for a kind of primary link in the course of mutual embedding. The precious point lies in that artist always let spectators from the standpoint of looker-on look steadily at the bright area from light source.  It seems that each person can re-lighten the history and daily landscape relying on his own sparks. Just like those gems seems to be alogical in the image, today, tens thousands of young individualities are gradually accumulating the impulsion and confidence to reconstruct this world. They are like gems that gradually gather in chaos and will light up the disordered darkness with their own light.
