荒梦 —— 商成祥个展 新闻稿
2012年10月13日至11月6日，空间站将为您带来新锐艺术家商成祥的首次个人作品展，展览将集中呈现艺术家近三年来的代表性作品。商成祥一直以一种稠密，忧伤，审慎和焦愁的态度，去记录他悬置于内心深处的“非现实的荒梦”。他形容这是一种“使肌理超越了物质和物象的局限，称为心灵振颤的记录”。
在展览体现的绘画语言的冲突和进化中，凸显了艺术家与日俱增的自信和爆发力。他不断回归到纯粹的、原始的表达方式上去，密集而肯定的笔触和荒诞却又具体的形象，为我们带来一种强烈的不安、冷酷的平静。那些废弃的希望被苦心装点的失望裹挟，梦想一路奔向毁灭那不可遏制的极速征途。
商成祥总是用灰暗的镜头记录他的世界，在日常中剖析暗藏的威胁，制造莫名的冲突关系，对未来忧心忡忡。如果以事件发生的状态来看，他的作品主要来自两个线索：一个是对未来充满不安的希望，这也是一种可以造成人们心理上的悬浮，能够引起内心共振的东西，但是这种看似正面的能量又难以直接用言语去交流。另一个是对于往昔世界的专注，似乎是对难以抗拒的时代步伐一种执拗地挽留和致敬。商成祥说：“始终有一种能量推动着我去反复地思考，这种无形的精神力在内心起的作用是不可小视的。是什么驱使着我们去不断的坚持探索，最终又在什么地方找到出口？艺术的救赎性力量对应着现实生活的支离破碎和悲剧色彩，如照妖镜一样，将人们精神上的孤寂和恐惧照的无所遁形。”
也许正如米兰·昆德拉所说：“追求的终极是虚幻。”商成祥是一位对物件与精神力量的关系有高度敏感的艺术家，他与日常而不平常的生活接触，沿着自设的精神吸引力法则进行创作，坚定的放逐希望与梦想，收获了深刻的痛和恒久的爱，也发展了属于自己独特的艺术感知力量。
A Desolate Dream – Shang Chengxiang Solo Exhibition Press Release
From October 13 to November 6 2012, The Space Station will presents you the first solo exhibition of emerging artist Shang Chengxiang, this exhibition brings the last three years’ latest work by this artist. With an attitude of density, prudence, and worrying, Shang records an “unrealistic desolate dream” deeply rooted in his heart, which he describes as “excel the limitation imposed by materials physically, a record so called to tremble your heart.”
In the evolution and conflict of the drawing language expressed from his exhibition, the artist shows an increasing confidence and explosion. He is been back to purely, originally way of expression constantly, the dense and confident stroke and absurd with fugitive image brings us a strong feeling of uncertainty yet cooling calm impression. The abandoned hope is intertwined with bitterly hopeless, the dream travels on a fast way to uncontainable devastation.
Shang Chengxiang records his world with gloomy lens, and analyses the hidden threat in daily life, he makes inexplicable conflict, and shows his great concern to future. His works are mainly result in two clues: one is an unsettled hope to future, which makes the suspension of people’s mentality, and be able to cause the echo from the inner heart, this seemingly righteous energy is hardly to communicate with language. The other one is a keen cling to the past world, which reflects retain and tribute to the irresistible development of times. Shang Chengxiang puts it in this way: “there seems exists a power pushes me to think repeatedly, the role this intangible psychical power played couldn’t be neglect in one’s heart. What expels us to insist exploration constantly, and where can we find the vent out? The redemption power art delivers to cope with fragment and tragedy of reality were just like mirror that could reads soul, which reflects the isolation and fright of our mentality.
“Ultimate of pursuit is illusion”, says Milan Kundera. Shang is sensitive to the connects of objects and mentality, he involves with usual yet unusual life, and on the trend of self imposed Spiritual law of attraction to do his creation, he firmly pursuits hope and dream, and collect lost yet perpetual love, and develops his unique way of artistic perception.
