书法、水墨画、古建筑……中国的老祖宗们手捧文化遗产、像半僵尸一般等着被今人接手，

而我们却不知道该如何是好。

将之“当代化”？或者干脆远离它？已知的现实是，

很多试图用当代语言解读传统精神的展览显得装腔作势且令人生厌，

正像前段日子唐宋八大家后人穿汉服举办宗亲联谊会一样。于是这个话题渐渐变得不可谈论或无从下口，直接绕行成为一种最正确的态度。

此次展览试图用最强权的材料限制把艺术家扔到真理之秤上最不正确的那一端——面对浑身贴满国粹标签，早被描眉画眼、贴金戴银到面目全非的老祖宗，

如何化解尴尬？

是不是只有将他彻底杀死了，才能让他有尊严地活过来？

还是把他弄得要死要活？死死活活？

Calligraphy,ink painting, architecture… these zombie-like ancestors from the Chinesecultural heritage have been taken over by nowadays’ people, and we remainperplexed on how to deal with them: should we “contemporize” them? Or leave themwhere they are? 

What is forsure is that numbers of exhibitions, which attempted to use contemporarylanguage to explain traditional spirit, appeared as superficial andexasperating. It is almost the same as the recent “Ancestors and Relative Fraternity”,which gathers descendants from the Eight Literary Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties,wearing the Han costume. Therefore, this topic progressively became taboo, andbeat about it became the correct attitude. 

This exhibitionattempts to use the most powerful material restrictions to lead artists to themost incorrect edge of this Truth balance: how to get free of this embarrassingfeeling when facing these unrecognizable ‘forefathers’ that have been disguised,embroidered and labeled ‘quintessence of the Chinese culture’?

Should they bekilled, so they can live with dignity? Or should they be half-killed half-keptalive?
