从无序的破坏到有序的重构过程是宋昱霖“格式化”系列作品的关键,她试图破坏和清空自身对于社会现象的直观态度和记忆,在写实绘画的基础上通过借助不同形式的线条,建构起了极端个人化的记忆形式和社会态度。

自2007年起,宋昱霖开始创作“格式化”系列作品。此系列作品的共同性是在最初的人物肖像上覆盖数遍不同颜色的线条,由线条形成的层层网络将原本直观的人物肖像隐藏于画面最底处,在隐约可见的图像下传递着艺术家自我“格式化”的方式。毋论质疑,“格式化”系列中的每一件作品都表露出了近乎无休止的时间性,艺术家在创作中其实是游离在自我否定、不断尝试建构、不断追求内心完美的挣扎过程中,她试图通过社会生活中存在的无形网络概念,不断的消解属于自身对于生活的认知和态度。这必将是一次生活体验改变精神态度的漫长旅行。

From Unordered Deconstruction to Ordered Reconstruction

Unordered deconstruction and ordered reconstruction are the key words of Song Yulin's Formatting Series. She tries to destroy and eliminate her own direct attitude and memory to social phenomena. Based on realism, with the using of various lines, she constructs a personalized memory mode and social attitude.

Since 2007, Song Yulin has created her Formatting Series. These works have a general character - portraits are covered by numberless colorful lines. Under the nets of lines, portraits which were originally clear are hided at the lowest layer of paintings, telling the artist's way of self-formatting. Undoubtedly, each work in Formatting Series is in a kind of endless chronological order. Her creation, in fact, is a process of self-exile from social perception and attitude. It is destined to be a long long journey that individual experiences change spiritual attitude.
