丸山真出（ShinichiMaruyamaまるやましにち）现居住于美国纽约。他拿起一杯水（有时也拿一拖把或执一巨型毛笔），轻轻转动手腕和腰身，或通过伏都教式的神灵凭附，虽然自己也不知是怎么一回事儿，就能将大片的液体分子变成日本书道。丸山称之为“Kusho（空書くしょ）”，即“空中书法”。

他是怎么做到的呢？由于水分子是黏在一起的，所以在短时间内水（或墨汁）会保持一定的形状不变。也就是说，水中的氢原子与其邻近的原子紧密地黏着在一起，导致即使是在空中的一大片水也能保持其表面的张力。张力就像是某种“黏着的皮肤”在一小段时间内将各部分聚集在一起。






虽说水能在空中成形是由于化学原理，但这些美丽的作品的的确确是由丸山创作的。是丸山“雕刻”出各种各样的形状。他在脑海中想象出一幅图，凭借对水的深刻了解和对时间的精确把握，加之肌肉的运动，最终水在空中形成美丽的形状，片刻后地心引力将水流拉回地面。（用高速照相机看到的整个过程是非常缓慢的。）丸山作品的最美瞬间就在于散落回地面的片刻。
