Tetsuya Nakamura - Born :1969

Biography:
Born in 1969. B.A. Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (Japanese Lacquer) in 1992.M.A.Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (Japanese Lacquer) in 1994. He started his artistic career in 1993. He has been focused in questioning the superficies, as evident in his accentuated surface treatment in his sculptural work. The series which drew a lot of attention to him, "Replica", is a rocker or racing car-like sculpture in real size, with the appearance suggesting world-record speed, or hyper-sonic. An irony is that it is non-functional sculpture.
