Over the past 20 years, Sui Jianguo has continuously reflected upon civilizations of the past, attempting to realize his limitless conceptual practice within a limited three-dimensional space. In his works, Sui Jianguo presents symbol after symbol, yet manages to never be constrained by the "shackles" of any one cultural symbolism in particular. All the while, he makes use of his concept of spirituality as a guide, breaking away from the self. The "Made in China" series has already freed itself from the outer shell of merely "simple" artwork and bears the artist's most important cultural and spiritual references. The conceptual core of "Made in China" elevates the artist's individual artistic creation to focus on the issues of sustainability surrounding globalization. This is not simply an expression of the artist's personal ideas, but more of a means of creating an image for national identity which implies the ultimate symbol of national strength.

Through the works selected for dispaly in this exhibition, ART ISSUE PROJECTS attempts to systematically examine Sui Jianguo's stylistic development and conceptual transformation. In so doing, we can clearly and accurately see the artist's internal thought process over the years.

Artist Sui Jianguo at the entrance of the exhibition space and one of his representative works, a sculpture of a Mao jacket.

A large steel ball is displayed in the space, slightly moving, giving the illusion that it might roll on viewers!

The small spaces on the side present stones covered with a metal net.

On the way to the second floor in the middle of the corridor, a roll of nails presented as if it was a rolled carpet.

On the second floor - a sculpture of Mao Zedong sleeping.

On the upper level famous antique Greek sculptures have been duplicated wearing the Mao outfit.

In the last space, two works,: a sculpture of a skull and a rotating installation, a bit like the inner part of a washing machine, or a tanker, with a few stones in it, producing a big noise, some bricks have been placed around the installation, on the wall one can read "Keep on going".
