Project 92: Yin Xiuzhen. The exhibition is being curated by Sarah Suzuki. Yin Xiuzhen will exhibit her large-scale installation, Collective Subconscious. A leading figure in contemporary Chinese art, Yin Xiuzhen started her practice in art in the early 1990s and has since exhibited widely in international exhibitions. Most well-known for her works that incorporate second-hand clothes, she brings a softness and familiarity to her commentary on development and urbanization. Collective Subconscious debuted at Yin’s solo exhibition at Beijing Commune in 2007. MoMA’s Projects series was created in 1971 as a forum for emerging artists and new art. Yin Xiuzhen is the second Chinese artist to have a solo exhibition in this series following Song Dong’s last summer. Second Skin, a solo exhibition of Yin Xiuzhen's new works, will open at Pace Beijing on March 20th.
