Sweedy Van Soul追求的不是外表的光鲜亮丽,而是透过新媒体的视觉经验对21世纪新儒学与美学提出反思。在2004的VIDEO与2009的装置之间莫名的脱节感,象征的只是脆弱且不堪一击的価值传递,那些互相纠缠的人体雕塑仿佛错综复杂的人脉网络,而长长的管状则恍若母子间的脐带,把这些人联系起来的究竟是什么?是血缘亦是道统?

Sweedy Van Soul not only pursues the glamorous appearance, but also reflects upon the Neo-Confucianism and the aesthetics in the 21st century through visual experience of new media . The indefinable alienation of the Video shot in 2004 and the installation made in 2009 indicates the fragile transmission of value. Those sculptures twisting with each other symbolize the complex human connection, while the long tubes symbolize the umbilical cord. What links them with each other, consanguinity or orthodoxy?
