Platform China is pleased to present Xiao Bo’s solo project Pause as part of special project - Mapping Asia - Young Asian Artist Solo Shows of CIGE 2009. Xiao Bo will have his latest works to share with you after his last solo exhibition Clips · Segments at Platform China in April, 2008.

2009年CIGE期间，站台中国将在“亚洲年轻艺术家个展”项目推出萧搏的个人展览，这是继他2008年4月在站台的个展《断片·片段》之后又一次新的探索。

From images to paintings,
and then back to images,
this two-ways reading process,
and the permanent topic - land and beauty,
vanished as it expanded from single image to the repeated subtle changes.
First Lady is drived into our eyes as a subject.
Specimens are unloaded and enlarged from a number of time chains,
but may be broken when they turned back.
And then they became independent and variable,
weakly hanging on the branches,

with the heavy history definition oppressed on their backs...

A linear reading
is actually a nonlinear repetition of time,
as well as a value equivalent of sticky moments.
After it has been deconstructed and reconstructed repeatedly,
the light of reality cannot be repaired again.
However, a pause
can be thought as a passive demand in the repeated cycle.
time moves ahead slowly in the manner of freezing.
Pause at this moment
is just the beginning of the next repeating…

一种粘稠瞬间的价值等同
在被反复切割和重构后
现实的光芒无法还原
而暂停
可以说是在反复循环模式中被动的需要
时间以凝固的方式缓慢的移动
此刻暂停
只是下一次重复的开始
