3. The starting bid is ¥20. The limit for raising bids is by ¥100 increments; bids may be lower, but bids raised in increments greater than ¥100 will be disqualified.
4. The largest bid before 12:00pm (midday) on the 11th of January, 2009 wins.
5. The auction is to be conducted in good faith, otherwise a win is invalid. Bidders must send their real e-mail addresses and/or telephone/mobile number to the following address: publication@vitamincreativespace.com
6. In the case of problems with the largest or winning bid, for example a violation of the above stated rules, then the next largest bid will win.

Hans Ulrich Obrist: Signed poster from Gilbert and George; various books
Interviewer and curator Hans Ulrich Obrist brought along some of his latest publications as well as a Gilbert and Georger poster from Everstill, a show he had curated at the late Spanish Poet Federico García Lorca’s home in Granada.

Cao Fei: RMB City An installation presenting developments in artist Cao Fei’s ongoing project RMB city is installed in the shop. RMB City celebrates its official public opening in Second Life from 10am on January 10[sup]th[/sup], 2009!! RMB Scoop price: RMB 1500

Zhang Anding/Zafka Zhang: V-Pod Shuffler with Soundtrack for i-mirror
Sound artist, writer and musician Zafka Zhang displays the final piece of his limited edition soundtrack used in artist Cao Fei’s i-mirror video, price: RMB 500.00.

Xiao He: Record of Improvisational Motivation No.1, 2’41”

At the end of his interview musician and sound artist Xiao He auctioned one of his calligraphies. Currently on display and available is a special one-off CD he produced, it is the record of his improvisational motivation from his daily music practices, which comes with a used train ticket on the CD cover, Unique Edition: RMB 83.00.

Jiang Jun: Urban China Magazine; Bird’s Nest Hat
Architect, writer and publisher Jiang Jun contributed copies of Urban China(RMB 20.00/issue), the magazine he is Chief Editor of, as well as a Bird’s Nest Policeman Hat from Underline Office+ Gao Zhiqiang.

Yan Jun: 1 min Heartbeat

Sound artist Yan Jun produced a 1-minute recording of his heartbeat for a mini-CD. They are 20 different versions of mini CDR, and each of them is RMB 100.00. This recording was used to bring in the New Year for his midnight performance Stethoscope, which collected recordings of questions asked by the audience and played them among excerpts from the discussions going on in the event.

Ma Yansong: Fish Tank; MAD Dinner book
Architect Ma Yansong displays a rare fish tank his studio developed employing observations about the way fish use and occupy a tank. Also presented is his new book MAD Dinner(RMB 280.00), a collection of texts and documents on MAD studio’s progress in architecture to date.

Kang He: Food Report Magazine
Novelist Kang He is displaying copies of Food Report(RMB 28.00/issue), the food culture magazine he acts as chief editor of.

Zak Kyes: Noted Without Comment publication
Swiss/American, London-based graphic designer and publisher Zak Kyes offers a new publication that documents the activities of the Bedford Press, a publishing operation he set up at the Architecture Association in London.

Yangjiang Group: First calligraphies from the New Year
To conclude the Battery City event, the Yangjiang Group performed a series of calligraphic actions in collaboration with Hans Ulrich Obrist, at 3:30am in the morning of the 1[sup]st[/sup] of January 2009. Arguably these are the first calligraphies to be produced in 2009.

Knowles Eddy Knowles: Mothermen napkins
Collaborative art group Knowles Eddy Knowles produced an unlimited edition napkin specially for the Mini-Marathon. They can be used for marking with ideas and/or with unneeded substances.
