This exhibition is Ji Ji’s (Shirtflag, Hi Panda, Underoath) first solo exhibition, witnessing his mutation from a designer to an artist. The theme of this exhibition is both an accurate and ambiguous survey on his past life experiences, not simply reminiscent of the past, but a futuristic outlook on the artist’s characteristics. The works attempt to convey an idea of futuristic minimalism through a seemingly daily collection of objects, inviting the viewer to taste the joys of life which are eternal and concrete. The artist’s attitude is more ambiguous than ever - he aims to mix up the boundaries of time and space, suggesting the absence of direction toward the future. It is a statement of the artist’s emotions and fears for the uncertainty of the future. During the exhibition, a temporary shop will be installed to sell an extended collection of the JiJi’s work as both an artist and a designer as a method of communication with the audience.
