Hi Simon,
It"s the project intergrades with Zheng Guogu"s life process. So far s I known, it"s a kind of LIFE PROJECT which will be constantly evolving within his life process. So it"s hardly to say when will be the "Empire" completed. There is a draft of plan from the artist, but more based on his imagination rather than time schedule, and there has been always fantastic out come from the construction in different stages, which is accumulating the "power of Empire". Of course, it will be ruined in a certain moment if we look at it from the future perspective. So it"s all about organic time. Probably it will be interesting to reflect the time process into your text. Do you remember you talked with the artist Zheng Guogu once during our dinner in Basel that we actually talked about the relationship between "nothing" and "something" from the architecture construction perspective? It"s an interesting relationship.
