2008惠特尼双年展3月6日预展盛大开幕

帕克大道军械库延伸展场



纽约 2008惠特尼双年展将于3月6日至6月1日在纽约盛大举行。其中3月6日为预展开幕。惠特尼美术馆至1932年首次举办双年展以来,至今已成功举办过73届大展,本次展览是第74届。与往届展览不同的是,本届大展除了在惠特尼美术馆本埠展场进行展出之外,自3月6日到23日,位于纽约帕克大道的军械库将作为其延伸展场,用来展示装置和行为艺术作品。美国20世纪著名的现代主义画家查尔斯·德穆斯(Charles Demuth , 1883–1935)的晚期作品也将作为附加展在此期间展出。

弗利兹•海格把自己的角色定位为跨学科艺术建筑师、教师,研究住房设计与实验园艺、创办流动讲学中心,甚至进行政治运动。他倾向于创作呼吁社会机会、慈善行为的跨领域艺术作品。

MK古特通过视频、摄影、雕塑等艺术形式,对传统寓言、童话进行了全新的诠释。这些新式神话是她表达对现代公众空间理解的载体。

来自旧金山的茱莉亚•梅尔策和大卫•索恩,创作涉及装置、摄影和视频等多种艺术形式,通过研究作品的用途和社会、政治、情感影响力,质疑世界。他们99年-03年期间合作的作品,主要是对国家机密、集体记忆以及历史问题的融合性研讨。

《跟迈克在一起的一天》

作品里的迈克,其实就是行为、装置艺术家迈克尔•史密斯小丑式的自画像——一个在世俗世界奋力生存的傻蛋。不论是现场版表演还是视频作品,笼罩在深深的疏离感里的迈克,总是一副落水狗的扮相。如此尖锐的讽刺意味,正是在向电影制作人雅格塔帝和剧作家里查德福尔曼致敬。

《我想要根钢筋在手,以防别人破坏我》

DJ奥利夫的多媒体氛围声音作品,颠覆人们听音乐的传统方式。他将重低音舞曲和轻音乐都带到了大型场所,诸如夜店、仓库和音乐节,展现了他独特的音乐美学——多层、循环的都市噪音。他的灵感来源于家乡——纽约布鲁克林区的聒噪。DJ奥利夫用电脑和转盘合成破碎的音乐片段,从街上的噪音到老唱片音乐,风格包括鼓机、嘻哈、雷鬼等。
