白南準: 光谱系列

影像艺术的创始人白南准(1932~2006)出生于韩国，先后在日本与德国深造。他在日本东京大学攻读美术史与美学，并学习了欧洲哲学与现代音乐。其毕业论文写了关于Arnold Schoenberg的音乐，在德国留学期间攻读现代音乐。白南准作为作家主要活跃于欧洲与美国之间，以跨时代的突破性创作与表演闻名。与JohnCage、Joseph Beuys、GeorgeMaciunas等结识交流，并与他们有广泛的创作合作。

此次展览关注于受其影像作品启发的版画和绘画。作品<Evolution,Revolution, Resolution>是为了纪念1989年法国革命 200周年，法国政府请求白南准创作的，创作的作品象征了被暗杀或被处刑的马拉、罗伯斯庇尔、丹东等8名法国革命人物。作品<Seoul>系列是为了纪念1988年首尔奥林匹克运动会而创作的特别作品，将柏林奥林匹克的英雄孙基祯和难胜荣图像化，意味着纪念遗忘的英雄。通过白南准的版画作品，此次展览将提供一个审视多媒体艺术兴起之初的关键媒介的机会。

The founder of Video Art, Nam June Paik (1932~2006)was born in Korea andstudied in Japan and Germany. Helearned European Philosophy and Modern Music majoring in History of Art andAesthetics and wrote the graduation thesis on music of Arnold Schoenbergin The University of Tokyo.When he studied in Germany,he majored in Modern Music. He made a career as an artist primarily in Europe and United Statesshowing shocking works of art and performances of all time and interacted with John Cage, Joseph Beuys, George Maciunas etc presenting abroad range of works.

This art exhibition focuses on printsinspired by Video Art of Nam June Paik and drawings. <Evolution, Revolution, Resolution> entrusted byFrench government celebrating 00^th French Revolution to Nam JunePaik and produced by him symbolized 8 people such as Marat,Robespierre, Danton etc as robots who were assassinated orexecuted during French Revolution. <Seoul> Series wasspecially created to celebrate 88’ SeoulOlympic, and it visualizes Gi Jeong Son and Seung Yong Nam, heroes of Berlin Olympic meant to commemorateforgotten heroes. This art exhibition will be held to provide theopportunity to examine the beginning of Media Art emerging as the most criticalmedium of Modern Art through prints of Nam June Paik.
