由于有建筑设计师背景的德国艺术家Janin Walter和Melanie Humann的参与，这次观察社的空间得到了更好的利用，空间被近乎精确地规划成两大区域，以金色的帷幕和纱帐围起来的是一个外表看起来神秘而浪漫的居住空间，而艺术家钟嘉玲的三个影像作品则围绕在这个居所的周围。Walter和Humann似乎成为展览的主体，她们搭建的微型“理想居住空间”，里面包括了床、化妆台、餐桌和餐椅等家具，这些宜家风格的搭配事实上是从二手市场买回来、经艺术家翻新的家私，展览开幕当天，观众可以透过帷幕的小孔偷窥在里面“生活”的艺术家——她们正在喝酒、吃饭。
该项目源自于这三位女性艺术家对30位介乎15至56岁居住于广东地区的女性的理想家居调查。但项目并没有在“合作”的层面上产生效果，钟嘉玲的作品是被置于“样板间”之外的，她似乎并不认可通过对特定的人群调研之后进行创作的方式，钟嘉玲的三件参展作品以近乎本能的方式去发掘自己的身体和自身创作的来源。《副产品》回忆了她小时候，在物质匮乏的环境下，如何把自己身体变为玩具的一部分，在不断夹手臂和身体之间的腋窝发出奇怪的声音，这个童年时期的身体游戏，在长大之后暴露于观众面前，却成为一种不得体的行为。《负空间》更为简单，观众在一个黑暗的空间中只能不断地聚焦于一个绿色圆圈以及上面模糊的数字，数字并随着若有若无的节奏闪烁着，显然，只有艺术家本人才知道上面那三个迷一样的数字的意义，“凝视”作品，并反复地思考，成为只存在于艺术家脑海中的私密行为——当然，我们也可以把这个谜底戳穿——圆圈内的三个数字是艺术家所有创作的起点，其意义如《维特鲁威人》之于达芬奇。
可以清晰地感到这里有两组作品思维序列的相异：德国艺术家从前期调查到空间布置都显示出内化了的科学标准，针对她们预设的主题（对理想生活的渴望是否是我们真正的渴望？）规范发问；艺术家钟嘉玲并不热衷于展示答案的共性，而是紧握属于私密的魔法，作品中模糊地显现着某种瞬间的清明。然而两组不同思维序列的作品，如果说它们都围绕着同样的问题发问，人们惊异地发现这些发问在当下，对于想象中的观众和真实的观众而言，似乎都或多或少地适用：不会有谁觉得哪里错了。这无疑提醒了我们另外一个问题：我们在今天处于这样一个历史时刻——思维序列相异甚大的作品好像都能问对问题，但不断地重复着这些发问却不能指示我们的前路可能为何。
