展览通过“声名狼藉者们”作为引路人,去不断重估人类个体与权力之间周而复始的、相互缠绕的且处于永恒流动的复杂关系,并在此过程中勾连出有关可解/无解、疯癫/文明、神秘/理性、机制/规则、命名/判断等诸多映射与讨论。权力的尺度是否能够衡量人类的密度?末路的斜阳,是一种看似无可挽回绝境下另一维度的回转,以此指涉展览初衷。


Can the measurement of power evaluate the density of humanity? Is it at all possible that we do not need to rethink this? The notorious are a starting point for this exhibition, inspiring us to reevaluate the cyclical, entangled, perpetually shifting, and endlessly complex relationships between the individual and power. In this process, we connected reflections and discussions of the explicable and the inexplicable, the insane and the civil, the mysterious and the rational, the mechanisms and the rules, the naming and the judgment. The sun setting on a dead end is another reversal of a seemingly irreversible circumstance, which was the exhibition’s original intention.


寓言家
艺术家组合”山河跳!“由黄山、黄河于2016年组成,其创作常以“问卜”行为测验艺术媒介的可能性,并以东方神秘学和民俗学撬动身份政治、劳工、女性主义、生命政治、现代性等种种议题,反思现代社会的唯物至上观念及心理现状。


The Allegorists
Artist group "Mountain River Jump!" is an artist duo founded by Huang Shan and Huang He in 2016. The duo has ***ariety of creative formats in art, often applying "divination consulting" as a beh**ior to examine the potential of art mediums. With their studies into Oriental mysticism and folklore, the artists pry open the topics of identity politics, labor issues, feminism, life politics, modernity and so on. You could see their practice as reflections on the materialist culture within modern China and its psychological status.

九月在上海油罐艺术中心“原力寺”展览演出现场  摄影-郑诣

受到岭南舞狮、福建青狮、性别意识的影响以及怀着还原地方傩戏精神的兴致,山河跳!(黄山、黄河)两人创作出“河东狮”并进行了舞狮表演。“狮子吼”原是佛教用语,在苏东坡的诗中“河东狮吼”意指对“悍妇”的调侃。与此相似,埃及神话中的狮头女神塞克迈特引起战争和毁灭,被认为体现了集体无意识中大母神原型的力量。山河跳!认为在自然界中身为顶级猎食者的母狮在文化中也应有一席之地。狮头面具系邀请佛山师傅以扎作工艺制作,并在眼部安装了炯炯有神的LED灯。


Inspired by traditional lion dance in Canton and Fujian, Mountain River Jump! (Huang Shan and Huang He) create their own style of lion dance under the impact of feminism and the original spirit of Nuo play.Lion Roarsused to be a Buddhism term, while Su Dongpo quoted it to describea shrewwith a sly sense of humor. Similarly, the goddess Sekhmet, who rules wars and disasters in the ancient Egyptian mythology, is believed to embody the power of the great mother archetype in human collective subconsciousness. The artists propose that as the top predator in nature, the lioness should share the same position in our culture. Mountain River Jump! invited the craftsmen in Foshan to make the lioness mask equipped with a pair of luminous LED eyes.
