The performance consisted in pilling out the tree of its bark, the tree was hung in the middle of the huge studio. On the side the public attempting to the opening was busy enjoying the wine and the buffet provided by the artist.
This performance made me think about the relation between creation and destruction? The destruction as a partof the creation/Creation! Ruin to rebuilt or Ruin to ruin?!
As the opening took place in the artist's studio, this performance is also raising the question of the relation between artist and gallery. Do artists still need galleries to represent their works? What the future of China-based galleries as they are being more and more often left out of the deals...
