BANK荣幸宣布方巍将在Richard Koh Fine Art举办其在马来西亚的首个个展。“隐形之地”将展出艺术家近期的最新创作，这些作品都是在其搬入位于上海郊区崇明岛的新居所和工作室后完成的。在此，艺术家重新认识了乡村生活，同时按照自己的步调进行创作，远离了大都市的“盛典”与“狂欢”。

BANK is thrilled to announce Fang Wei’s first solo exhibition abroad at Richard Koh Fine Art in Malaysia. Hidden Earth features the artist’s most recent works, all of which were created after he resettled in Chongming Island, a suburb of Shanghai. Here the artist rediscovered countryside living while working at his own pace, away from the “festivals” and “carnivals” of the big city.

这些充满活力的展览作品用流动性的笔触描绘了丰富延展的风景中若有似无的人形轮廓。卷须，鲜花和景观植被模仿着身体的姿势和四肢的舒展，将画面的主体与背景融为一体。这些图片是对无意识空间的创造，基于记忆和想象这类精神图像，艺术家看中的是其不明确、难以辨认，碎片式的本质。逃离喧嚣的大都市，艺术家退居乡村的生活和大自然也是其创作的源泉。

The vibrant paintings in the exhibition are painted in fluid washes and depict indistinct humanoid figures in lush expansive landscapes. Tendrils, flowers and branches of the vegetation, extend and mimic body postures and limbs while at times merging the protagonists with their backgrounds. These pictures are invented spaces of the unconscious and are based on interpreted mental images such as memories and the imagination. The artist values them for their fragmented nature, unclear and indecipherable. Escaping the bustling megapolis, the artist retreated to the countryside and the great outdoors which served as inspiration for his works.
