KIAF，第九届韩国国际艺术博览会于上周落幕，来自16个国家的193家画廊与72000名观众，参加，参观了本次艺博会, 毋庸置疑KIAF是亚洲最具潜力，规模最大的艺术博览会之一。

尽管韩国艺术品在国内艺术品市场上占据着绝大部分市场份额，但近年来韩国的拍卖公司着力引进了一大批国际当代与现代艺术明星的作品。例如，在 2009年11月K-Auction举办的专场拍卖就包括了安迪沃霍尔、汤姆·威塞尔曼、德库宁的作品。
今年的KIAF艺博会同样荟萃了韩国与国际当代艺术作品。参展的国际画廊有15家来自英格兰，16家日本，13家德国，集中展现了国际当代艺术风貌，包括达明赫斯特，Marc QUINN, Vik MUNIZ and Roy LICHTENSTEIN等成名当代艺术家作品都可以欣赏到。另外，韩国艺术舞台上的领军艺术家Dong-Yoo KIM, Hyung-Koo KANG, Kisoo KWON ，Ufan LEE的作品都悉数参展，其中Ufan LEE是韩国最贵当代艺术家。
受益于韩国私人与政府对艺术的推动，众多的艺术机构如雨后春笋般建立起来。2008年以世界上排名第二位的视频艺术家命名的Nam June PAIK 艺术中心在首尔揭幕，这名艺术家的装置作品“Wright Brothers”(1995)在2007年佳士得香港拍卖会上以54.012万美元的高价成交。同时，韩国艺术舞台已经通过各大拍卖公司与世界当代艺术紧密的连接在一起，从2007年，苏富比与佳士得两大拍卖行开始推出韩国艺术拍卖专场。
2009年美国另一家拍卖公司Phillips de Pury与查打银行，英国萨奇画廊携手在伦敦向西方世界推出了“韩国眼：月亮一代”韩国新一代当代艺术家群展，截止目前为止共有超过25万名的观众参观了该展览。展览包括众多韩国刚刚崭露头角的新势力艺术家。（参加艺术眼本次展览报道）
与中国当代艺术在08年之前的暴涨与之后的暴跌相比，韩国当代艺术的价格更具有合理性与稳定性。2010年的统计数字表明韩国当代艺术的价格已经比危机前上涨了15个百分点，从这一点来看韩国当代艺术是足可以在亚洲笑傲中国与日本当代艺术的。
