杨冕，1970年出生于四川，现工作和居住于成都、北京，曾在多个国家和地区举办个展和联展，1999年获“中国当代艺术奖”。
本次展览将展出艺术家杨冕于2006年开始创作的最新作品，包括绘画和雕塑两种媒介的作品。如果说在以往的“标准”系列绘画中，杨冕是通过在画面中制造一种类似工业制图绘画的方法，来置疑中国新社会“标准”的精神实质，那么在新的 “来中国－文化的革命“系列作品中则是试着找寻产生这些“标准”的根源。因为在中国“榜样的力量是无穷的” ……
在雕塑部分，杨冕创造了一种平面雕塑的概念，以对应我们对《 那些经典 》的理解，在这些作品中，用麦当娜为形象的雕塑《宛如处女》，来让人思考中国社会中处女和非处女中灰色地带的形成的过程；用《罗马假日》来让人回忆中国相对象和谈恋爱的区别……

Yang Mian was born in Sichuan, China 1970 and now lives and works in Beijing and Chengdu, China. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in several countries and areas and was awarded CCAA (Chinese Contemporary Art Awards) in 1999.
Yang Mian’s solo exhibition ‘Classics’ curated by Pi Li will exhibit his most recent art works including paintings and sculptures which shows the artist’s attempt of finding the sources of different ‘standards’ that exist in China society.
