纳米博物馆北京重生

纳米博物馆 (Nanomuseum),可能是世界上最小的博物馆,它由一对金属框构成,每个金属框的大小为5.08 X 7.62厘米 (2 X 3 英寸)。
纳米博物馆由小汉斯(Hans Ulrich Obrist)于二十世纪九十年代中期创建,在许多个个展之后,据说,英国艺术家道格拉斯·戈登(Douglas Gordon)为之筹划了一出葬礼,纳米博物馆暂时闭馆。
但是,作为移动中的博物馆,它并不受制于地域,而具有随时发展其特有空间区域的潜力——纳米博物馆谋求对话,却在迁移中谋求对话。新的纳米博物馆将会于2010年1月重生于北京的“这个店”(the shop)。为期一年的纳米博物馆将成为艺术家个展的用武之地,计划中的首个个展将是孙原&彭禹,之后纳米博物馆会向更多的中国艺术家发出个展的邀请。
正如小汉斯所说,在今天,博物馆的生死循环会出现更多的可能性。

The Nanomuseum Reborn in Beijing
There are all kinds of possibilities, after all, when you see time as freedom rather than as constraint. As the architect Alighiero Boetti once said: “The museum can move across waves with intervals, pauses and silences.”

Founded in 1994, the Nanomuseum could very well be one of the smallest museums in the world, composed of two frames with dimensions of 5.08cm x 7.63cm (2 x 3 inches).
Under the curatorial vision of its Director Hans Ulrich Obrist the Nanomuseum housed numerous solo exhibitions in the 1990s by the likes of artists such as Chris Marker, Yoko Ono, Christian Boltanski, Gabriel Orozco, and the architect Cedric Price. Its final show was intended to be realized by the artist Douglas Gordon, who would organize a funeral for the museum, but then the museum was lost in a pub. As Hans Ulrich Obrist asks, “Why should it last forever?”
But why shouldn’t it return?
Beginning from January 1st 2010, the Nanomuseum is reborn in the shop in Beijing. Over the next year monthly solo exhibitions will form a rhythm of production and circulation as the museum enters the lives of various artists, returning to the shop for exhibition–perhaps even exhibiting on the way to the shop. The first artists to exhibit in the Nanomuseum, Sun Yuan & Peng Yu, were handed over the museum on New Year’s Eve.
