绘画总是关于现在，关于自我的事业。画家一个人单独作画，或完成一些设想，或尝试一些可能，或低声絮语，或奔腾咆哮。在这个事业的路程中，他是孤独的。在艺术已经产业化了的今天，当艺术像商品一样流通和沉浮，当人们沉迷于关于观念、风格、前卫的争竞中，在这个艺术的康庄大道之外，我们却总能看到一些孤独的身影在旷野奔跑。他们所追寻的是一条不同的道路。外部世界的纷乱扰攘对于他们只不过是又一个勇者的海洋和等待收割的麦田......画家掌握着一条有关世界的真理——世界，就是你自己。
Foreword
Painting is always about the present, about one’s own career. An artist works on his own. He brings to fruition some imagination, tries a few possibilities, whispers or howls. Along the journey he has embarked on, he is lonely and alone. At a time when art has become an industry, as art circulates and gets on a roller-coaster ride, like commodities, as people are immersed in the contest for concept, style or Avant-gardism, we can always spot some solitary figures scampering in the wilderness, away from the artistic highway. What they are after is a different path. The chaotic world outside is an ocean for the valiant to dive in, a cornfield to harvest… The artists are in control of a law of the world: The world is your own self.
