丽江工作室把周边的农田和人作为一个实验室：我们对当地能量、材料的循环，土地利用，互利互惠，开拓发展以及新农村之未来均深感兴趣。我们把进驻空间视为调查研究的场所， 注重一切过程。

请发送电子邮件叙述您认为可行的提议以及您近期工作的实例。您的提议将是来此工作的出发点。同时请做好在实地操作中改变方案的准备。

如果我们采纳您的方案，您将：

•    得到从家到丽江的往返路费。
•    享有免费食宿。
•    定期制作工作室海报。
•    帮忙做农活。
•    实施您的计划，其间会得到一些我们的帮助。
•    做好与其他艺术家同时、近距离工作的准备。
•    找出与众不同的、费力的、实验性的方式来展示您的作品。您的工作进程将对当地居民及外界开放。

Lijiang Studio
Call for Participation: New Countryside Laboratory


Lijiang Studio engages with the surrounding farmland and local residents as a laboratory. We are interested in local cycles of energy and material, land-use, reciprocity, development, and the future of the new countryside. We are process-oriented, and see the residency as a place for research.

Email us a proposal about what you may do here, and examples of your recent work. The proposal is a starting point for working here. Expect that your plan will change after arriving here.

If accepted you will:

•    Sleep and eat for free.
•    Make periodic broadsheets.
•    Help with the farm work.
•    Make your project happen, with a little bit of help from us.
•    Will be prepared to live and interact with several other artists here working closely at the same time.
•    Find new, difficult, experimental ways to show your work. Open your process to local people and outsiders.

Contact us now. We are accepting proposals from now through November 2008.

We will reproduce your work in our documentation, but you will retain ownership of the work you make here. Since 2004, Lijiang Studio has hosted more than fifty resident artists and produced more than 20 events.  Lijiang Studio maintains relationships with other residencies and art spaces around the world.
