VoCA is often asked who our favorite artists are. An impossible task, but weâ"ve decided to finally made a list of only a few of them. These ten have remained in our mind over the years. They also perfectly exemplify VoCA’s belief - that all great art is about fundamental, human concerns:

Interesting and little-known Canadian Art fact #1:
Marcel Duchamp was obsessed with chess. One of Duchamp’s most notable chess games occurred in 1968, at a concert called “Reunion” at Ryerson Polytechnic in Toronto. His opponent was the avant-garde composer and event organizer John Cage. The music was produced by a series of photoelectric cells underneath each square of the chessboard which were sporadically triggered during normal game play.
