弦外之音 —— 伊利沙白格鲁布尔个展

在奥地利艺术家伊利沙白格鲁布尔的作品中，空间与感知是反复出现的主要元素。这其中，建筑作为一个重要的方面，虽貌似简单， 但这些声音、录像和互动装置无不使参观者对身处周遭产生一种全新的认识和体验。例如一个房间被百叶窗帘从中间隔成两半，随着人的进入与离开而开合。（无题, 互动装,1977, Mezzanin画廊，维也纳）；例如在公共空间里书写不同的句子，把人引导到不同的方向；又如在摄制录像的时候保留一道白色遮幅，拍出的不完整画面促使观众需要在心中重组这些内容（无题, 录像装置, 概念, 2002）；还有在一间被透明玻璃封住的房间里面，发生器制造1万赫兹的高频率声音，玻璃就好像被唤起的声音之膜（10000HZ, 装置,1996, 维也纳美术学院），等等。

近两年，伊利沙白格鲁布尔旅居中国， 通过借用一些本土艺术家的工作室（如周铁海，蒲捷等），她也做了一系列的作品。她收集了大量家具物件，把它们拼成了一个完美的矩形。这些短暂的装置，一如她的其它作品，反应了她精细准确而又强大的控制力，同时给人一种极度宁静的感觉。

在“弦外之音”展览中，伊利沙白格鲁布尔将首次携她的声音、录像和互动装置作品在中国展出，以期刺激观众的观察和对空间的感知。

伊利沙白格鲁布尔于1990到1996年期间在维也纳美术学院学习，师从于布鲁诺吉洛克尼里，现在生活并工作于奥地利维也纳。她参加过各类国际展览，包括：”工作室 # 13 Kerstin von Gabain & Johann Neumeister“, Sezession Wichtelgasse, 维也纳 (奥地利, 2010), "hotelito san raffael" kw.i editon, Glasshill 项目”, 伦敦 (英国, 2008), “潜在的交流：中国—奥地利年轻艺术家的派对”, 南视觉美术馆, 南京 (中国, 2007), ”维也纳休息室”, Dom, 莫斯科 (俄罗斯, 2001), “Ausgesucht" , Krinzinger画廊, 维也纳 (奥地利, 2000).

此展览由奥地利联邦教育艺术和文化部支持。

In Austrian artist Elisabeth Grübl’s works, space and perception are central and recurrent elements. Her minimalist site-specific works, sound pieces, videos and interactive installations, where architecture constitutes a fundamental aspect, offer observers a new experience and understanding of the space that surround them. A room is split in its middle with a vertical venetian blind that opens and closes as people approach or leave (O.T. / interactive installation / 1997 / Galerie Mezzanin (Vienna)), sentences are presented in public spaces, leading people in different directions, videos are scanned by a white strip only showing part of the image that viewers have to reconstitute in their mind (O.T. / video installation / concept / 2002), or a room closed by a piece of glass, evoking an acoustic membrane, emits a high frequency sound of 10,000 Hz (10 000 HZ / installation / 1996 / Akademie der Bildenden Kunste (Vien – Na), etc.

These last two years, during her trips to China, Elisabeth Grübl pursued a series of works where she uses local artists’ studios, (Zhou Tiehai, Pu Jie) gathering all the furniture and objects they contain to compose a perfect rectangular block. These ephemeral installations, as well as her other works, reflect a controlled precision, exactness and emanate a feeling of calmness.

In “Between the lines”, Elisabeth Grübl will present for the first time in China a selection of her sound pieces, videos and interactive installations, all stimulating viewers’ observation and awareness of the space.

Elisabeth Grübl studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Bruno Giroconly from 1990 to 1996, and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, Finland, in 1998 and 1999, she now lives and works in Vienna, Austria. She participated to various exhibitions internationally including, “Studio # 13 Kerstin von Gabain & Johann Neumeister“, Sezession Wichtelgasse, Vienna (Austria, 2010), "hotelito san raffael" kw.i editon, Glasshill Projects”, London (U.K., 2008), “Potential Dialogue：The party of Sino-Austria young artists”, RCM Art Museum, Nanjing (China, 2007), ”Viennese Lounge”, Dom, Moscow (Russia, 2001), “Ausgesucht" , Gallery Krinzinger, Vienna (Austria, 2000).
This exhibition is supported by the Bundesministerium für Unterricht, Kunst un Kultur.
