
影片拍摄于汶川大地震的半年之后,展示了重灾区什邡市红白镇和起周边地区几个普通人物和家庭的灾后重建的生活。其中的主要人物之一,是当地一个道观的主持、62岁的林理峰。因为道教在其方法论上,存在直接干预现实生活的各种手段,诸如看风水,解孽生祸事等等,所以当地灾民带着灾后生活和精神状态上出现的种种问题,向林主持求助,反映了人的生存在突然受到重创之后,对信仰和神性力量的需求。

Synopsis: A small rural township called Red White was seriously devastated by the May 12th Earthquake in China 2008. A 62 year old Taoist survived even though his temple was largely torn by the disaster. This documentary tells the story of how the Taoist practices the widely believed Chinese traditional religion and the local people’s daily life during the township’s post-quake reconstruction.
陈心中早年毕业于清华大学,获得工科学士学位,后改行出国学习电影艺术,于2003年获得美国天普大学电影学院的艺术硕士学位(MFA)。2004年回国定居北京,致力于独立影片和艺术图片的创作。其主要作品有:《四川街道歌声》(纪录片,1997),《我的名字叫忠》(实验片,1999),《情诗》(故事长片,2004),《成长》(美国故事长片,2004,任摄影指导),《双村记》(纪录长片,2006),《旧城》(实验纪录录像,2008),等等。作品曾入选20余次国际影展,并获过少量奖项。
Zhong Chen is a Beijing based independent filmmaker. He went to USA to study film directing in 1998. He got his degree of Master of Fine Arts in Film & Media Arts from Temple University in 2003. His filmography includes Sichuan Street Songs (1997), My Name Is Zhong (1999), Love Poems (2004), Getting’ Grown (2004, as the DP), Tale of Two Villages (2006), Last Days Before the Flood (2008). His films has been screened in more than 20 international film festivals and won some awards, including the prestigious Kodak Cinematography Award for Documentary.
